If you've just installed some Windows Updates, and that ruddy Restart Now button is really cramping your style, here is a quick command that will stop any messages until you actually do restart the computer.
Go to Start, Run (or press Windows Key + R), then type in:
net stop wuauserv
and hit Enter.
It is possible that the service will restart itself, but if that does happen then just run this command again to stop it.
Enjoy! :-)
Updated: Applies to XP, Vista and 7, and probably 8 as well.

Want to see lyrics to songs inside Windows Media Player?
The download the Lyrics Plugin!
http://www.lyricsplugin.com/
You must make sure that you "tag" all of your songs with the appropriate Artist and Track Name (with something called ID3 Tags) so that LyricsPlugin can find the lyrics. You can also customise the colour, and add lyrics to the database if they are missing!
If you want more plugins for Windows Media Player - I would highly suggest DFX - which makes any song really sound much much clearer.
http://www.fxsound.com/
DFX is a licenced program, so if you want the full version, buy it, or, download a patched version from a torrent site such as www.torrentz.com and install away! I tested one out and had no problems, but beware, as there are always viruses/spywares hanging around on some torrents.
Enjoy :)

Things To Say To Telemarketers
1. If they want to loan you money, tell them you just filed for bankruptcy and you could sure use some money.
2. If they start out with, "How are you today?" say, "I'm so glad you asked, because no one these days seems to care, and I have all these problems. My arthritis is acting up, my eyelashes are sore, my dog just died . . . "
3. If they say they're John Doe from XYZ Company, ask them to spell their name. Then ask them to spell the company name. Then ask them where it is located, how long it has been in business, how many people work there, how they got into this line of work if they are married, how many kids they have, etc. Continue asking them personal questions or questions about their company for as long as necessary.
4. This works great if you are male. Telemarketer: "Hi, my name is Judy and I'm with XYZ Company. " You: Wait for a second and with a real husky voice ask, "What are you wearing?"
5. Cry out in surprise, "Judy? Is that you? Oh my God! Judy, how have you been?" Hopefully, this will give Judy a few brief moments of terror as she tries to figure out where she could know you from.
6. Say "No" over and over. Be sure to vary the sound of each one, and keep a rhythmic tempo, even as they are trying to speak. This is most fun if you can do it until they hang up.
7. If MCI calls trying to get you to sign up for the Family and Friends Plan, reply, in as sinister a voice as you can, "I don't have any friends, would you be my friend?"
8. If the company cleans rugs, respond: "Can you get out blood? Can you get out goat blood? How about human blood?"
9. After the Telemarketer gives his or her spiel, ask him or her to marry you. When they get all flustered, tell them that you can't just give your credit card number to a complete stranger.
10. Tell the Telemarketer that you work for the same company, and they can't sell to employees.
11. Answer the phone. As soon as you realize it is a Telemarketer, set the receiver down, scream, "Oh my God!" and then hang up.
12. Tell the Telemarketer you are busy at the moment and ask him/her if he/she will give you his/her home phone number so you can call him/her back. When the Telemarketer explains that telemarketers cannot give out their home numbers say, "I guess you don't want anyone bothering you at home, right?" The Telemarketer will agree and you say, "Me either!" Hang up.
13. Ask them to repeat everything they say, several times.
14. Tell them it is dinner time, but ask if they would please hold. Put them on your speaker phone while you continue to eat at your leisure. Smack your food loudly and continue with your dinner conversation.
15. Tell the Telemarketer you are on "home incarceration" and ask if they could bring you some beer.
16. Ask them to fax the information to you, and make up a number.
17. Tell the Telemarketer, "Okay, I'll listen to you. But I should probably tell you, I'm not wearing any clothes."
18. Insist that the caller is really your buddy Leon, playing a joke. "Come on, Leon, cut it out! Seriously, Leon, how's your momma?"
19. Tell them you are hard of hearing and that they need to speak up . . . louder . . . louder . . .
And finally....
20. Tell them to talk very slowly, because you want to write every word down.

JAP Proxy App
Simply download and install JAP from this website:
https://anon.inf.tu-dresden.de/index_en.html
Then load the program from the start menu folder, run through the configuration of the program and then configure your internet browser as thus:
Internet Explorer > Connections > LAN Settings > Use a proxy server:
Address: localhost
Port: 4001
If you configure IE to use JAP then you may find several other applications will start working as they use Internet Explorer's setting's to connect to the internet. Otherwise, see if there is a Proxy button/tab in your program's settings.
There is also an anoymous feature to the program, but it does slow it down a little bit. You can also buy a subscription, but at the moment the program seems to have good speeds :)
You will need to have installed Java from www.java.com - however the JAP installer already has a Java downloader available if you don't have it already.
Happy surfing!
NOTE: The proxy does not seem to like it when you login to online profiles such as Facebook or YouTube - so I don't recommend using JAP for those. In that case, use something such as www.hidemyass.com, or search Google for "free proxy".
If you want to buy a subscription, you could also try Your Freedom.

Forwarding Gmail to Hotmail - POP3 and SMTP are now open to all Hotmail accounts!
Category: Web, HTML, Tech
You need to go to your Gmail Settings page, and go to "Get mail from another account". Use your Hotmail address, and use the following information:
username: username@hotmail.com
password: your password
POP3 server: pop3.live.com
Port: 995
SSL: Enabled
If that isn't working, try this hack version:
http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/01/22/hack-to-enable-hotmail-pop3-and-smtp-support-instantly-for-all-countries/
If this does not work, then you will need to link together your Gmail and Hotmail accounts by the method on this page:
http://shamanix.wordpress.com/2008/04/13/full-migration-hotmail-gmail/
Specifically using this feature (use an existing email address, which will be your Gmail address): https://accountservices.passport.net/PPNetworkHome.srf?lc=1033
For more information about all this or to use Outlook Express instead, go to this page: http://ask-leo.com/what_are_windows_live_hotmails_pop3_and_smtp_settings.html
Please email me if this is not working for you! :)

Using Gmail? Want to forward from Hotmail to Gmail?
There is a really easy guide right here:
http://shamanix.wordpress.com/2008/04/13/full-migration-hotmail-gmail/
Basic steps are:
1. Copy over Hotmail emails to Gmail
2. Copying your contacts over (remember that they will not synchronise, so you will need to 'add' new people to Gmail as well unfortunately :(
3. Allow using your Hotmail email address when sending from Gmail ("Add another email address")
4. Redirect new Hotmail to Gmail *****
This is the tricky bit. I find that if you setup using your Gmail at this page [https://accountservices.passport.net/PPNetworkHome.srf?lc=1033] then you can link Hotmail-Gmail using Linked ID's, and it's "more likely" that Hotmail will let you redirect to a non-MSN email. Otherwise you will need Easy Email Forwarding (Windows Forwarding client) and FreePops (I have copies if people want them) or GetMail (old version of EEF), or IzyMail (Web service, but want money).

What do you mean you can't buy Happyness?
You CAN buy Happyness!!!
In biology, the brain works using something called neurotransmitters, which are released upon certain stimuli from the 'real' world via your senses. e.g. You look at the sun setting, it triggers memories, and you smile.
It so happens that there are certain chemical neurotransmitters called Endorphins, which, when you are stimulated in a certain way, result in you feeling happy. (There was also a report about chocolate having similar effects...)
So that means...
If you could somehow get hold of endorphins, either ingested (eaten), injected or whatever...
Then you CAN actually buy happyness!!!
:)
PS.... I noticed this idea is pretty similar to that episode of Doctor Who (Gridlock, for those of you who want to look it up :) where they were selling drugs in green packets in the stalls...
PPS... Somebody sparked up that the EVIL drug heroin has a similar purpose... however, heroin is made from morphine, and is highly addictive, so I DO NOT suggest you ever, ever, ever take it!!! Ever!
(Not that I'm forcing you to become StraightEdge, as your life is your own choice of course!)
But the great thing about this whole idea is that endorphins are already made by the body itself - they are naturally-occurring chemicals - in fact, if you didn't have any, you wouldn't be human!!!
In effect, you are therefore bypassing the whole neurotransmitter-release stages that heroin has to go through in order to make you feel happy - endorphins are just the end result of taking heroin! (Well what I am led to believe anyway).
All I'm saying is, happyness is just a state of mind, caused by chemicals in the brain. If we could reproduce these chemicals and get them into the brain... then it would be true that you can buy happyness :)
